Lewd Acts - Black Eye Blues

The final album from one of the best hardcore bands around. Furious guitars and rapturously vicious vocals make this record enjoyable throughout. Even during some of the slower songs the gruff tone in which the lyrics are presented seem perfectly fitting. Despite the short shelf life of Lewd Acts, they should be considered one of the trailblazers for the current state of the hardcore scene.

Oathbreaker - Mælstrøm

Maybe about 2 years ago, or just a little under I came across Oathbreakers Self Titled album, and instantly was hooked. Earlier this year I was extremely excited to hear that Oathbreaker had become part of the Deathwish Inc family and would release their new album through them. After not hearing much about them for a while, and not hearing anything new either, I was wondering how this new effort might sound once it was unleashed. It's pretty damn delightful, and exactly something you would expect to be on the DWI label. Worth the time, and even the money if you do that kinda thing anymore.

All Pigs Must Die - God is War

The hardcore super group, of sort I guess, is back with their first full length. If you thought the EP was great, wait til you get a sniff of this tasty morsel. This time around APMD sound even more pissed then their first time around. Vocally this might be Kevin Bakers best performance besides the Hope Con album "Death Knows Your Name". Loads of up tempo beats, and some nice sludgy riffs make for a beautiful thing.

Bury Your Dead - Mosh N' Roll

Bruso is back!!! and with that returns the sound that made BYD who they are. Thankfully, with this new release, we can forget the last 2 albums ever happened, and just go on our merry ways. This album offers you everything you could possibly want from a BYD album. I might even go as far as to say that this is their best work to date. Heavy, abrasive, and a full of more fist pumping parts then a Jersey Shore marathon.

Throats - Throats EP

Throats are a British hardcore band in the vain of Converge. Fast, nasty, and pissed off. After waiting sometime, they finally dished up a nice little EP around Christmas time of last year. 8 minutes of awesome in 4 songs. If you don't like it, atleast it's over fast, but if you don't like it, you should fuck off. Hopefully we will see a full length from these boys really soon, so I hope.

Ed Gein - It's a Shame a Family Can Be Torn Apart by Something as Simple as a Pack of Wild Dogs

Anyone remember when the whole Spazcore (Mashing Mathcore, and Grindcore together) thing seemed to really take off? Some time in the early 2000's people thought it was cool to just play their instruments like they were having a epileptic fit. Very few of the bands went far, or had any impact on anyone. Probably due to the fact not many of them were actually hitting cords, and the quality of the recordings, and the volume of the drums being recorded could cover that up very well. The few that survived (Early The End material/The Locust/Daughters/Carbomb/Ion Dissonance), did so for a reason, and some are still around to talk about it. But for me personally there was one band that stood above them all, and that band is Ed Gein. The music matches the name of the Psychotic they are named after. I recently found out that they have decided to come back out of hiatus, and release a new record, which of course got me listening to their old stuff again. So I have decided to post their first EP. Great piece of work, and they end it all with a sick cover of a Nirvana song.

Bone Dance - Snakecharmers EP

Bone Dance are kinda in the same vain as Black Sheep Wall, but a little more heavy on the punk side. This band has helped introduce me to a lot of new band's since I first discovered them about a year ago. I'm still surprised by the lack of media they have managed to get, since they are kind of a gem amongst the scene. In time expect to see this band taking over though. They are slowly but surely picking up steam with their newest EP "Snakecharmers". 3 of the most crushing punk hardcore songs around these days. Well worth the 10 minutes of your day to check this release out.
